About

Lorr Volatier’s work is shaped by a life lived between worlds.
By the age of four, she had already lived in four countries, an experience that set the stage for a life of continued travel and an understanding of belonging beyond geography. That movement became foundational, informing how she gathers beauty, meaning, and connection across cultures. Rather than anchoring herself to a single place, Lorr learned to root her sense of belonging in something more universal: the quiet language of nature, color, presence, and moments of genuine connection.

Her nomadic path has kept her moving between Europe, America, and Asia, collecting inspiration across landscapes and cultures. Art has always been her most natural way of processing and expressing the depth of her inner world. Through her practice, she translates the quiet longing of belonging to many places at once into visual experiences rooted in presence and appreciation - works that are felt rather than explained.

With a background in set design within the film industry in Los Angeles, Lorr brings a spatial and immersive sensibility to her work. Whether through paintings or installations, each piece is conceived as a space - one that invites the viewer to step in, slow down, and reconnect with tranquility, joy, and presence.

Lorr’s work operates from a singular belief: that belonging is not found, but remembered. Her practice offers a quiet, immersive return to that knowing - the beauty of being here, now.
